I've got a very strong personality, perhaps due to my drive to make a leader out of everyone who has the passion AND the potential. If there are top engineers in character building, I'll be among them.

My kouhai-tachi (juniors) in my beloved UP org see me as the terror, uber-harsh sempai (senior) because I can be one when it is necessary. Even my subordinates in THAT company where I worked before had a taste of that harshness. And also even one of its Senior Vice Presidents didn't expect he had it coming. When I know I'm right and I've got a point, I will speak my mind out. I yield when I have to, but not without a fight; out of habit and a passion for nice arguments perhaps, and I admit it is a waste of time and effort for a lost cause. Pride is a weakness I am not proud of.

Compassion is what I always feel for other people. Even the 'cruelties' I may seem to cast on others are not without concern. I do not care if others do not believe me on this one; lack of faith has always been man's downfall.

I claim to hate stupid people, but aren't we all? I think the truth of the matter is that I hate people who do not think; and there are times when, yes, I hate myself.

Recently I've been watching again (after how many YEARS) the Ranma 1/2 series with my brothers, and I am still addicted to it. After even more than a decade!

I've been making reviews of TF/Bomba/Sexy films lately for my thesis (20 films down to 10), pero on the side I watch the series pag madaling araw kapag umuwi na ang bro ko. Bonding session naming 3, hehe! Tingnan natin if may silbi ang thesis ko rito.

RANMA 1/2: An Addicting Romantic, Soft-Porn Anime

Alam natin na ang Ranma 1/2 series ay targeted sa mga lalaki, dahil sa breast exposures at medyo perverted visuals and characters attacking women and their underwear. O kaya si hottah hottah Nabiki na parang bugaw dahil pineperahan ang mga pictures ng sariling kapatid o ni girl-type Ranma. Pero kahit babae ako, Ranma 1/2 is still one of my favorites! Sometimes awkward nga lang na tumawa with your brothers at makitang nagbo-boing-boing ang boobs ng mga characters dito. Babae pa rin naman ako, kahit na how I wish may Jusenkyo at magpapatihulog ako sa "Cursed Spring of Drowned Boy" kung meron man.

Siguro that's one of the uniqueness of the manga/anime. Although may similar manga/anime na ito, ang FURUBA (Fruits Basket), iba pa rin ang twist sa Ranma 1/2. Furuba kasi more of drama hindi ba, family and curses and Touru being alone: depressing and iyak ka ng iyak.

Mas 'threatening' din in a way ang catalyst ng sudden transfornations sa Ranma 1/2. WATER. Matalsikan ka lang ng tubig sa gilid ng daan ng isang obaa-chan na binabasa ang kalye for no apparent reason, biik ka na, panda ka na, o pusa ka na, o bibe. Isa pa, masasabing STUPIDITY rin ang dahilan ng transformations nila, ng curse nila, dahil nalaglag sila sa spring. Sa FURUBA, the Juunishis were born with the curse (magtatransform ka pag niyakap ka ng opposite sex). Mas likely mabasa ka ng tubig kesa yakapin ng opposite sex no. Di ba?

Sa Ranma 1/2 din, tatawa ka agad after mo maka-experience ng kalungkutan o kakiligan sa nakita mo. Mabuhusan lang ng tubig si Genma may Panda ka nang may karatulang may "APOPO!" na nakasulat o kaya naman gulong na nilalaro. Tatakbuhan ni Ranma si Shampoo kung papatayin ng huli si girl-type Ranma, pero buhusan lang ni Nabiki ng mainit na tubig si Ranma't sa pagiging lalaki nito uli yayakapin na siya ng gustong pumatay sa kanya. Dagdagan pa ng Nabiki-type punchline na sisingilin niya si Ranma sa kada buhos nito ng tubig, di ba? Mamumulubi ka para lang sa isang takure ng mainit na tubig?! HAHHAAHA!

Pero bestseller para sa lahat (babae AT lalaki) ay ang kilig factor din ng Ranma 1/2. Kahit subtitles o English dubbed ang panoorin mo, hindi mawawala ang mga salitang, "my fiancee" ni Ranma, usually to protect Akane. Yun ang isa sa kilig parts e, ang save the damsel in distress kahit na pagkatapos ng lahat sisigawan mo siya ng, "Kawaikune~" or "You are so uncute!"

Hindi lang si Akane ang 'damsel,' dahil remember si Ranma nagiging babae rin di ba? Marami ring pagkakataon na ang girl-type Ranma naman ang sinesave ni Akane (usually topless na si girl Ranma rito, lagi na lang manipis ang damit mala-Hulk Hogan). Syempre, maraming YAKAP scene sa pagliligtas sa isa't isa, isipin niyo na lang half-naked Akane at half-naked Ranma (girl tapos magiging boy) tapos babagsak sila sa lupa magkapatong.

And did I say half-naked?

Ecchi? E biglang papalitan ang eksena ng close-up ng dalawa (magkapatong pa rin, ehe, pero CU na), magkakatitigan, tapos makikita sa malalaking mata ang 'kirakira' o sparkle/twinkle/glitter at magsasabihan sa soft tone:

"R-Ranma...?!"
"A-Akane..."

Tapos bigla mabubuhusan ng tubig yung dalawa at magkapatong na ang girl-type Ranma kay Akane. See? Isang eksena for Yuri fans pa! Pwede ring Yaoi sa ibang eksena. Or sa mga sick people out there, bestiality pa. Bleh. Get a life.

Ranma 1/2 is a romantic, soft-porn anime (or manga), and in addition to that the series feeds our libidinal need to be close to the opposite sex. Ranma gets close una sa transformation niya to a girl, pero it doesn't feed his 'actual' male libido, na focused kay Akane. Pero ang ating feminine side (yes, male creature, meron kang feminine side, may estrogen ka) feeds on the romanticism in transformations sa characters and the fact that Ranma and Akane still cannot admit the truth (and nothing but the truth) na mahal nila ang isa't isa, to themselves. Dagdagan mo pa ng romantic tidbits sa pagitan ng iabng characters.

The hell with Shampoo and her big boobs, or Ukio and her girly attitude when she receives comments! Akane is the man, the violent bunso in the family, the kawaikune~ tomboy!

Akane feeds Ranma's boy and girl selves, while Ranma makes Akane feel she's a tomboy (tough girl) and a girl at the same time (an uncute girl BUT Ranma's fiancee).

Even if you do not understand it, just watch and listen to the ending theme song, "Ranma to Akane no Baraddo" (Ranma's and Akane's Ballad) and you'll feel kilig, tuwa, and kilig again and again. Orgasmic for a romantic, soft-porn anime.

Though nagpapasalamat ako dahil lenient ang adviser ko, nakakainis din na magpasa man ako sa kanya ng tingi-tingi na thesis, hindi pa rin niya nababasa. Inamin na naman niya kanina.

Sana naman basahin niya at i-appreciate ang thesis ko. I'm rooting for a 1. UNO. PERFECT. EXCELLENTE! Or kahit nasa line of 1 bilang kapalit ng 5 ko last sem dahil sa katamaran.

Please naman please, basahin naman ang ideas ko, utang na loob! Xerox pa lang ng final thesis mamumulubi na ko e! 4 na hardbound copies pa yun!

Halos isang linggo hindi namin alam bakit hindi pa siya umuuwi nung nangyari yun. Na-dyaryo pa nga ang nangyari nang hindi namin alam, kasi iba ang pangalan na nakasulat sa report na may title na "Bangkay sa Canton House". Pangalan ng kaibigan niya na pinaghiraman niya ng law book ang nakasulat. May tumawag sa bahay ng nasabing kaibigan na law student din, at kinondolence ang maling pamilya. Dun na nalaman ang lahat, at soon nahanap namin ang bangkay niya sa morgue ng San Juan de Dios Hospital sa Baclaran.

Yun na pala huling pagkikita namin.

Pinatay siya dahil sa may alam siya sa mga kalokohan ni Jejomar Binay at ayaw niya pagtakpan ito. Para manahimik siya, naisipan ng dating Mayor at ng mga pulis nito na tuluyan na siyang todasin. Ano pa nga ba ang bago sa kapalaran ng mga mabubuting pulis?

Pati mga kapatid ni Papa Gani na pulis-Makati rin, patay na rin lahat. Siya na ang naging huli sa mga pulis sa pamilya.

Wala na ngang hustisya, nanunudyo pa ito. Nung burol ni Papa Gani, andun pa yung bumaril sa kanya mismo. Nakikiramay.

At si Jejomar Binay, buhay pa rin.

I was rummaging through piles of books in Powerbooks yesterday (it's PILES of clothes on sale that I hate) when I found this little treasure. Nope, I knew the find wasn't meant for me. But no doubt I will benefit from it as well. Sana. :D

Her birthday is still more than a fortnight away, but I have to hand the treasure to her. Today. She's planning something 3 days before her birthday, and I hope my present will prove helpful. Or fun! Hehehe!

I hope the treasure will help strengthen our bonds as well. OUR equals FOUR. And I don't think you'll get what I meant by that.

I expect to benefit from it when things are rough and when she helps by encouraging me with pieces of advice. But I hope I won't hear things from the second treasure that often.

Her birthday is still a month away, we do not see each other that often, we rarely talk to each other, but she will like it. I hope. If she doesn't like the contents, well, at least the treasure is petite and the book jacket's in lilac.

I hope the treasure will help her realize things and strengthen our bonds as well. OUR equals FOUR. And I don't think you'll get what I meant by that.

Two days ago my brothers and I had a major fight with our mom. MAJOR talaga. Iyakan, sigawan, pagdadabog, ganun. But it was only me who was verbally fighting with mama, and I really raised my voice SO HIGH I couldn't believe it myself. My brothers were silent but crying.

Napuno na rin ako kasi e, nag-umpisa sa isang maliit na bagay, tuluy-tuloy na lumaki, hanggang BOOM! Faito sutaato! Even my youngest brother wasn't able to control himself and told me the reason why he's uneasy towards my mom.

Afterwards my brothers and I talked and we planned a work schedule on the chores we have to do at home. We admitted we're lazy kids at home, and although we do the work assigned to us, we do it in our own pace, and if mama's not around in our own time. That's the thing: my mom's a work horse and is also addicted to laundry (naglalaba kami every other day o everyday ng damit tapos pag 10th, 20th, 30th of the month nagpapalit kami ng sheets ng kama at punda, pag 15th and 30th mga kurtina at sapin ng buong bahay); basta she couldn't (or wouldn't) understand why we are unlike her. Hindi naman kami lumaki ng tulad nila e, so iba ang nakasanayan naming gawin. Basta may sked kaming ginawa na hirap pa rin kami sundin, but at least there's effort.

Nope. Hindi dahil sa trabahong-bahay nag-umpisa yung away. Pero hanggang ngayon e uneasy pa rin kami, civil, aloof.

Tapos may pinost siya sa ref namin na reminder para sa sarili niya: ANNIE Don't Talk. Hindi ko alam kung matatawa ako o maiiyak e.

She won't admit her faults and she won't apologize (asa pa you! At nag-sorry ako in the middle of the fight.). Well, it doesn't matter anyway.

My friend's father passed away yesterday, and I think I know how he feels. Or I THINK I think I know how...anyway...

Sad, he told us in our org mailing list that his family is prepared for the worst, but when I received a short text message from him this afternoon I was overwhelmed by it. He opened up in a way, and those few words can be shortened to five letters: A-G-O-N-Y.

I din't know how to reply, but somehow I did.

I realized you THINK you know you're prepared for things, but when it arrives you are not. It's because you cannot be really prepared when it comes to emotions; TAKSIL yan e. Too much of it may even give you a heart attack.

You all know my favorite character is Severus Snape. But Snape HATES Sirius. Is this relevant?

The scientifically-based personality test I took was the Jung-Myers-Brigg Personality Test and the above test was based on it. They got the HP characters as reference so we would understand it better. Thank God. Psycopaths are definitely NOT psychologists; good thing some people understand us.

I'm feeling geeky these past few days (I had a little drive to work on my thesis now) and I want to learn more about the personality types. I'm a member of the Chamber of Secrets Forum, and there's a thread where a study/research is being made regarding the said personality types in correlation to Harry Potter's characters AND YOUR favorite HP character. Interesting.

The results of the tests I took were as follows (descriptions based on the simpler Pirate Monkeys site):

1. ESFP (took this months ago) -- or Ron Weasley. ESFPs are fun-loving, spontaneous, and gregarious. They love new things, whether it's new friends or new experiences. ESFPs enjoy entertaining others and being the center of attention.

2. ENFJ (took this twice and the results are the same) -- or Olympe Maxime. ENFJs are charismatic, sensitive, and commanding. They are good at juggling a lot of tasks at once. ENFJs make good teachers and leaders, and people naturally follw them.

3. ENTP (took this twice, same results) -- or Sirius Black. ENTPs are clever, innovative, and optimistic. They have a good sense of humor, though their quips may hurt other people's feelings. ENTPs are good with engineering and technology.

Though I got 3 different results, the descriptions basically add up to my personality (my KNOWN personality, at least). Ok, got that already. Fine.

I'm more interested with what my personality types will mean when my favorite HP character is put into the picture. Why?

Because Snape's character is an INTJ.
